Good recruitment decisions are at the foundation of a successful organisation and of a smoothly running team.  In this course, you will learn how to maximise your chances of picking the right candidate through effective preparation and efficient and effective interviewing. 

Through practice you will learn to assess a candidate’s skill level as well as detect if they are being economical with the truth! The approach provided will help you to assess the three key dimensions of skill, will and fit, giving you a good indication of which candidate is the best match for the job.
This session will provide you with proven tools, techniques and tips and give you the opportunity to practice, get feedback, discuss your issues and develop practical solutions.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of a good interview
  • Prepare effectively for the interview, including how to review a CV, to better assess which areas should be focused upon in the interview
  • Create the correct atmosphere in the interview, reducing stress in the candidate, so that information can be gathered efficiently and positively
  • Gather evidence to show HR and colleagues of whether a candidate is suitable both in terms of skill and will to do the job
  • Understand some key issues around interviewing, e.g. dress code, legal boundaries, how to close, language, body language, layout, common myths, leading questions, etc.

This course can be tailored to align with your current organisation’s recruitment process, allowing you to build consistency and a shared language amongst interviewers.
