Presentations Skills: The Audience is your Customer™

Learn to prepare and deliver presentations and speeches with less stress, more confidence and greater impact

Being able to present your thoughts and ideas well is a key life skill. Successful presentations are a result of the right content, structured clearly then delivered by a skilled public speaker. The focus here is on the last element – you the presenter. The course will give you the practice, feedback and tools needed to develop your presentation and speech delivery skills in a relaxed and risk free environment.

Practice sessions are interspersed with focus modules on stress management, eye contact, body language, voice coaching and preparation. We encourage you to view each person in the audience as a customer of your presentation, as someone you need to engage with.

The emphasis is placed on repeated practice with individual feedback, so that participants can give their natural style a chance to emerge and develop. Developing this skill can be nerve-racking for many participants and each individual is dealt with empathy and encouragement, taking them as far as they can on the day without causing undue stress.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand their key presentation assets; eyes, body and voice
  • Develop confidence in presentation abilities by repeated practice and personal feedback
  • Understand the value and elements of good preparation
  • Learn techniques to handle stress when presenting
  • Gain personalised tips, e.g. handling questions, difficult people, handouts, etc.

"According to most studies, people’s number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Death is number two! Does that sound right? That means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you’re better off in the casket than doing the eulogy."
Jerry Seinfeld
